Technical Skills Sculptural Methods • Ten years of experience as a sculptor working in many mediums including mild steel, stainless steel, bronze, aluminium, carved wood, cast plaster, plaster/armature structures, fiberglass, mold making, cast resins, ceramics, bamboo and natural fibers; welding (MIG, TIG, Oxy/Acetylene, Arc), brazing, foundry casting Carpentry • Ten years of professional experience working as a carpenter, mostly in residential construction and finish woodworking; intimate knowledge of all the various tools of the workshop including table saw, router, drill press, band saw, panel saw, wood lathe, miter saw, angle grinder, wood chisels, pneumatic tools, sand blaster; broad knowledge of various methods of wood joinery including lamination, mortise and tenon, dovetail, and biscuit joining. Kinetic/Mechanical • Electrical motors, servos, and stepper motors, gear systems, pulleys, levers, pull-string mechanics, tensegrity structures,various mechanical joints including sealed bearing, and simple bushings. Interactive/New Media • Broad knowledge of electronics and mechanics relative to interactive and kinetic art; microcontroller applications, implementation of sensors such as photo, sonic, infrared, piezo-electric, and programming and de-bugging of these systems; teaching platform based around the Parallax Basic Stamp 2. Multimedia Authoring • Seven years of experience editing digital images including color correction, layering, composition, and optimization for print and web output; digital printing including large format, and alternative print media such as canvas, Tyvek, and Duratrans; Design and maintenance of personal website as well as other commercial sites and various sites for friends. Computer Programs • Adobe CS3 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, After Effects, Premiere); three-dimensional digital rendering using AutoCAD and MAXON Cinema 4D; Final Cut Pro, iMovie, iWeb, iDVD, Word, Excel ; Very experienced at setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Macintosh Computers and software.
